About Measure H 2026
Strong schools help to keep Lafayette strong. From home values to our community values, having great schools in Lafayette is what makes this such a wonderful place to live, to raise a family and retire. That is why we must vote yes on Measure H to ensure our K-8 schools have the funding they need.
Measure H will:
- Attract & retain highly-qualified teachers.
- Protect advanced, high-quality math, science, engineering, and technology programs.
- Preserve high-quality reading, writing, and language arts programs.
- Maintain small class sizes.
- Keep school facilities safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Continue high-quality music, visual, and performing arts programs.
Measure H includes a SENIOR EXEMPTION.
REQUIRED TAXPAYER SAFEGUARDS:
- ALL funds STAY LOCAL to support our students. The State can’t take these funds away.
- NO funds are allowed for administrators' salaries.
- Citizens' Oversight and mandatory audits ensure proper spending.
- The Measure lasts 9 years. It cannot be extended without a new vote.
Measure H proposes an extension of the soon expiring Measure L tax at $328 per parcel and an increase of $257, for a total of $585 per parcel.
Protecting the quality of education is a wise investment, even without school-age children. Great schools increase property values and build strong communities. That’s why parents, teachers, business and civic leaders, and residents from every Lafayette neighborhood urge a YES VOTE.
